Tom Abato is director of software and services sales for Agilysys Sun Technology Solutions. Agilysys is a leading provider of innovative IT solutions to corporate and public-sector customers, with special expertise in select markets, including retail and hospitality. The company uses technology – including hardware, software and services – to help customers resolve their most complicated IT needs. The company possesses expertise in enterprise architecture and high availability, infrastructure optimization, storage and resource management, identity management and business continuity; and provides industry-specific software, services and expertise to the retail and hospitality markets.

Mr. Abato, who reports to David Vogelzang, vice president of sales, Agilysys Sun Technology Solutions, is responsible for developing key strategies to increase revenue from software license sales and related services, as well as to drive Agilysys’ position as an experienced and trusted provider in the business solutions integration industry.

Mr. Abato joined Agilysys in 2007 through the acquisition of Innovativ Systems Design, Inc., where he served as Software and Services Sales Manager. Prior to joining Innovativ, Mr. Abato held numerous management and sales positions at companies such as Canon Inc., TTSI and Sun Microsystems. While at Sun, Mr. Abato served as national software sales manager, where he was responsible for $60M in annual software revenues and maintained both distribution and reseller/integrator relationships across the United States. Mr. Abato also led the Sun National Software Value Added Reseller (VAR) Council for three years. Mr. Abato received his Bachelor’s degree in computer science and finance from Wilkes University in Pennsylvania.
